Well, I won't lie and tell you I'm all resigned and kumbaya about the effing minivan, because honestly I'm kind of plumbing the depths of despair with a shovel in my hand over here, but LOOK WHAT MICHELE DID!
Avon e-Party to help me get a new heap!
That's right, y'all. She's holding an Avon e-Party, with 25% of all proceeds going to the "New Clunker Fund." You can click that link right up there, or just visit Michele via her ad on my left sidebar and use the code "MFAMAMACAR" when you check out. Easy-peasy, and the name of the code made me smile.
Meanwhile I made it to work today, thanks to the kindness of my boss who came and got me, and when I found out the bus route that ends four miles from my house doesn't run on weekends another co-worker brought me home in exchange for a dozen eggs from the hens at Squatter Workshop and some fresh catnip for their very spoiled kitty. I can't make a habit of bumming rides, because I'm sure I'd wear out my welcome pretty quickly, but I also can't afford a bicycle until next payday since I spent All The Money on that asshole van right before it died, so I guess Imma have to leave for work two hours early, hoof it to the bus, and bus into town then reverse the steps on the way home in the meantime. Which...well, maybe I'll lose some more weight? It's green?
I dunno. I still can't be cheerful about this given that groceries are even going to be problematic given what I laid out to "fix" the van right before the engine shit the bed. But I'm trying to convince myself this will work somehow, because it has to.
How are all of YOU?
