So yeah, thanks to Dell's "we'll screw up multiple times, mail double parts and delay the tech, swap your system for ANOTHER one that doesn't work, mail you a part for the original machine, then empty your bank account and make YOU eat the overdraft fees while you CONTINUE to not have a working laptop!" style of customer disservice, it went from "we'll make rent by the skin of our teeth" to "we'll be about thirty bucks short and there'll be fuck-all we can do about it." Today I worked nine hours at Job #2, and I'm due at Job #1 in about five hours to work the early shift. Which means that, since there's no extra gas money, I and both my uniforms are camped out in the lowermost level of a dark, creepy parking deck in the bowels of downtown MFA City, where I'll hopefully catch a nap, then work some more and hopefully make some cash tips (possible but doubtful). Then I'll go home, sleep, send the MFA Children off to the first day of school, come back and work an extra shift I picked up and hopefully make some MORE cash tips (also possible and SLIGHTLY more likely), and maybe--MAYBE--if I then raid everyone's piggybanks I can drop the rent off a few days late and claim to the landlord that we were on vacation (ha. HAHAHAHAHA!), and he won't cash the check until I work another double on Thursday, make more tips, and deposit same, and it'll all work out okay. Godiva willing and the van don't break. And if I don't come down with the cold I can feel lurking in my sinuses. Probably some real sleep in an actual bed would help me fight that off but mehhhh.
If I sound motherfucking FURIOUS at Dell and thoroughly sorry for myself it's because I'm both. Also, it's a little early to hate on the entire month, but so far I do not care for the cut of September's jib ONE LITTLE BIT.
How are all of YOU?
