Yeah. I didn't link to that post because I don't know how to link from The Precious and as Hotter was attempting to download something with my laptop it made a horrible grinding sound, flashed an error message saying something about a conflict of resources and the motherboard, and then stopped acknowledging the keyboard.
So Dell is sending a casket, er, I mean BOX, and my laptop will be going on vacation.
As for Hotter's machine, it appears that his operating system is far enough out of date that it can no longer make new hardware play nice in the sandbox with the other kids. And Windows 7 is expensive. Not so expensive as to be unattainable, but maybe not this week. He's taken the super grownup position of "I DON'T WANT WINDOWS 7. MY COMPUTER IS NOW A GIANT PAPERWEIGHT AND FUCK EVERYTHING!"
I guess it's good that he's getting that out of his system before the children come home, because it turned out that I had to say no to "DISNEYLAND" due to the XY's having invited a family member of his who has physically assaulted me in front of the children. TWICE. He's had this individual around my kids twice since the divorce, and each time they were very upset, beds were wet, awkward questions asked, and tears shed. So...yeah. I can't keep the XY from including this person in the kids' lives during HIS custodial time, but I can certainly decline to give up any of MINE for him to throw them together. Even if it happens at a super-fun resort and theme-park (for what it's worth I did explain to him why I was saying no, and that my answer would absolutely change if the party in question wasn't part of the deal; he said the children LOVE that person, there is no problem except for me, etc. and...well there's more but I don't feel like rehashing it. He sucks. The end). Even if he DOES promptly turn around and tell the children they aren't going to DISNEYLAND because mommy is mean and hates for anyone to be happy.
So everybody here including those who are currently en route is in a foul frame of mind (my neck is still acting up), and tomorrow I am celebrating Monday by going to work at oh-Christ-hundred, and blahhhhh.
How are all of YOU?
