Banfield's vet was so sure she'd be dead by now that she didn't go into how to care for her during any kind of recovery period, and I don't exactly want to call that place and ask.
So...do y'all have any ideas? I finally gave her a small meal of soft, bland food earlier this afternoon since she seemed hungry, and she wolfed it down. Still no vomiting. Still pooping.
Now what do I do, besides keep re-examining my bank account and trying to mentally wring blood from a stone? I get paid Friday, and I figure we'll take her somewhere for repeat films then if she's still with us.
Also, do any of you know of any pitbull rescue groups that might take her and do the surgery? We'd miss the hell out of her, but I really just want the poor stupid dog to be okay.

Tanner went through this, although his obstruction was smaller (I think) and he had it stuck in his stomach for over a month without my knowledge. Sure, he barfed a little more in retrospect, but he considered vomiting a hobby back then. Once it hit his intestines, that's when he went through what Isis did from the sound of it. I thought he was dying. My vet had me do bland food over night and to bring him back if he didn't poop or was vomiting excessively or with blood. He went back the next morning, but then passed the rope knot (as it turned out to be) there. My vet was willing to do a payment plan with held checks and seemed to feel that while this wasn't good, as long as the dog was pooping and not throwing up a ton, it was okay to hold off. And, unlike Banfield, these guys would cut off their own arm if it was in the best interest of the animal.

Still pooing, still eating, seems cheerful, let nature take it's course. She may not need surgery so just keep waiting and seeing.
I wouldn't even bother with repeat films, you know it must still be in there, so the films don't really give you any extra information.
Of course if she becomes ill then go back to the vets, but any dog who is well enough to play and knock you over isn't in urgent need of surgery.
