Temp Agency #1 called me today about a new job. It's the overnight shift and involves heavy labor, neither of which exactly thrill me, but the main drawback (in my estimation) is that it's for a company I don't much care for (think soulless corporate megalith that's choking out a small business near you--I won't even SHOP there).
I took the job anyway.
This is perhaps the best indicator of how bad our finances have been recently; a month ago I don't think I would've even considered this job and I have turned a job down in the past on principle (it was for a pest-control company that's a major polluter and I would have felt icky about that, plus I was worried about the effect being around all of those chemicals might have on my lungs).
I'm trying to tell myself that Soulless Corporate Megalith won't be signing my paychecks, and it's just for two weeks, but I am still not exactly delighted by the prospect of working there.
Oh well. I start Monday.
How are all of YOU?

I had something relevant and smart-sounding to say and then I got distracted and highly amused by the Chippendale's ad in the sidebar. Bahahahahaha, wooooo. Yeah, I got nothing.
Oh. Um. Wallyworld Warehouse type shtuff? Happyfuntimes. A friend of mine did a stint of that after high school. I guess it's pretty similar to what the warehouse employees do for my own company, though our biggest crime is in taking advantage of factories overseas that don't pay their employees fair wages and may or may not use child labor, and not so much in the "destroying your local mom and pop" realm. Because.. that's so much better. I'm rambling. I don't know. Do what you gotta do at this point, lady, ethics (mostly) be damned.

Huh. Sucks. Will you be there at least a bit when they're still open? You can take fotos of their fancier customers for that other website.

It really sucks but sometimes you gotta take one for the team. I know how you feel though every time my hubby comes home with one of their bags I cringe.
